Mexicali Bar Y Taqueria - Nobby Beach is looking for a professional Cook to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position, based on your experience. A successful candidate must be a team player and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

We are an established venue based at Nobby Beach on the Gold Coast for over a decade now with a reputation of high quality modern Mexican food, drinks and service.

About you:

You should possess the following skills/attributes:

  • Experience working in a fast pace & high-volume environment

  • At least 1 years' experience as a Cook or Chef.

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Good time management, work ethic & attitude

  • Experience with food health and safety and rotation practices.

  • Able to work weekends and nights

  • Qualified in or undertaking studies in commercial cookery would be an advantage.

Your duties will include:

  • Preserve and store food following the safety standard

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations.

  • Assist in menu development, bringing creativity and fresh ideas to the kitchen.

  • Ensure food is presented attractively and consistently while maintaining portion control.

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes and quality standards.

  • Assist Sous Chefs in preparing and cooking dishes to the highest standards
