Be Part of History

The Tasmania Football Club is more than a football Club, it's an organisation built on purpose, pride, and impact. We're embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime journey – building a professional AFL club from the ground up. As we enter this historic and exciting phase, we are assembling a passionate and committed team to lay the foundation for a club that will unite, inspire, and represent all Tasmanians.

Your Role

The Corporate Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the financial sustainability and commercial growth of TFC through meaningful partnerships, sponsorships, and revenue-generating opportunities. Responsibilities will be centred around securing investment that supports both football and community outcomes. The Corporate Development Manager will harness Tasmania's unique story, inspire brands to be part of the Club's journey, and contribute to building a strong foundation for generations of Tasmanians.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Development & Management

  • Identify, target, and secure new commercial partners that align with the Club's vision, values, and strategic goals.
  • Develop compelling proposals and tailored partnership opportunities that deliver mutual value and long-term impact.
  • Build, nurture, and retain strong relationships with current and prospective partners, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and renewal.
  • Leverage TFC's unique positioning and Tasmanian identity to attract local, national, and global brands.

Commercial Growth & Revenue Generation

  • Drive revenue across key categories including sponsorships, corporate hospitality, and events.
  • Proactively seek innovative opportunities to unlock new revenue streams and value for partners.
  • Ensure all commercial activities are strategically aligned with the Club's broader business objectives and growth ambitions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Cultivate purposeful relationships with key stakeholders including corporate partners, AFL, government, business leaders, and community organisations.
  • Work collaboratively across departments (Football, Brand & Marketing, Membership, Community) to integrate partner activations seamlessly into the Club's ecosystem.
  • Represent the Club at business and networking events, positioning TFC as a bold, progressive, and values-led organisation.

Purpose-Driven Partnerships & Impact

  • Embed the Club's purpose into all commercial conversations, ensuring that partnerships reflect and amplify TFC's community and social impact goals.
  • Develop initiatives that deliver shared value for partners while strengthening the Club's presence in Tasmania.
  • Position TFC as a catalyst for pride and progress in Tasmania by aligning with businesses that share its ethos of belonging, growth, and positive change.

Planning, Reporting & Budget Management

  • Contribute to annual commercial plans and revenue forecasts that support the Club's financial sustainability.
  • Manage budgets, pipeline tracking, and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability in all corporate development activities.
  • Provide regular insights and updates to senior leadership on performance, opportunities, and risks.

Skills and Experience

  • A track record of securing high-value corporate partnerships and driving significant commercial revenue.
  • The ability to balance the need for short-term revenue with the goal of building enduring, values-aligned partnerships.
  • Exceptional communication and engagement skills to compellingly present TFC's unique story and value proposition.
  • Strong understanding of the Tasmanian community and business landscape to forge authentic partnerships.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with different internal teams to seamlessly integrate and activate partnerships within the Club's ecosystem.

This role reports directly to the General Manager of Commercial & Partnerships and offers a unique opportunity to secure and grow the commercial partnerships that are fundamental to our Club's operations and long-term success.
