The Tenancy Services Worker supports the delivery of planned support and contributes to the effective operation of a 24/7, Housing First–aligned transitional accommodation service for young people aged 16–25. The Tenant Services Practitioner plays a key role in providing essential after-hours support, guided by principles of safeguarding at risk children and adults. The position works alongside young people in their tenancies to promote wellbeing, stability, and increased independence.
You'll be a great candidate for this role if you:
- Hold a relevant qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating high competence in youth or community services, social work, or a related support field.
- Possesses a current Queensland driver's license, enabling safe and reliable travel to support young people across various locations and community settings.
- Can demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding principles, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and vulnerable adults in all aspects of work.
- Are able to confidently use IT systems, including case management and data collection tools, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring data privacy and integrity.
- Can bring a positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, aligned with program goals and Brisbane Youth Service values.
- Are committed to social justice and flexible service delivery, with a passion for supporting young people and adapting to changing needs in a team environment.
Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables. You'll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:
- A Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
- A National Coordinated Criminal History Check [Police Check].
- Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases – Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella [Chicken Pox], and Pertussis [Whooping Cough].
