Tenancy Team Leader
Permanent full time, based in Launceston
Loreto Community Housing manages over 3 200 social and affordable housing properties state-wide and are building many new properties in response to current needs. However, we are about much more than bricks and mortar – our team combines construction and effective tenancy management with a strong commitment to tenant and community wellbeing.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a full time Tenancy Team Leader to join our team on a permanent basis. Based in Launceston, this position is your opportunity to join a leading Community Housing Provider. The successful applicant will have high-level problem-solving skill, initiative, judgement, and discretion, with the confidence to be accountable for decisions and actions. The Tenancy Team Leader is responsible for leading and supporting a team to deliver tenancy management services in accordance with high level service standards, policies and contractual compliance.
About you:
We are looking for a committed individual who is passionate about providing high quality tenancy and property management services. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your skills in a rewarding and fast-paced environment.
Ideally, you will have managed teams in a similar social/public housing or property management position. Alternatively, you will be able to draw on experience that demonstrates your ability to step into a leadership role.
You will be responsible for working with a team to ensure high quality tenancy management services are delivered, while maintaining regular engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
What's on offer:
You will be reporting to the General Manager Housing Operations at a Tier One registered Community Housing Provider with offices in both the south and north of the state.
In addition to the purpose-driven nature of the role, you will:
• Have leadership responsibility to ensure high quality tenancy management services are delivered.
• Have regular engagement and representation with internal and external stakeholders.
• Be responsible for the budget and financial delegation as defined for the position.
• Receive a competitive salary with access to salary packaging (which can increase take home pay) and bonus leave days.
Selection Criteria:
1. Commitment to the vision, purpose and values of Loreto Community Housing and a broad understanding of the operation of the Catholic Church in Tasmania.
2. Experience managing a team in a similar social/public housing or property management position. Formal qualifications relevant to the position are highly desirable.
3. Working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997, community housing products & programs, sector support services and a sound understanding of the housing and homelessness sector in Tasmania.
4. A high level of experience supporting, supervising and performance managing staff in a service-based environment that is subject to work pressure and change.
5. High-level, problem-solving skill, initiative, judgement, and discretion – a confidence to be accountable for decisions and actions.
6. Ability to plan, organise, set priorities, and meet deadlines as required to effectively achieve individual, team and organisational outcomes.
7. Demonstrated ability to work with and audit information and data systems and records to facilitate quality and performance management, planning, audit and reporting requirements.
