Commercial Analyst – Pricing & Margin | Melbourne

We're now seeking a Commercial Analyst – Pricing & Margin to join our high-performing team. This newly created role plays a key part in optimising profitability across our brands, channels, and customers — driving smarter, data-led commercial decisions and embedding pricing discipline across the business.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you'll partner closely with Sales, Merchandise, and Operations to design and deliver pricing strategies that maximise value and margin performance. Leveraging your analytical mindset and commercial acumen, you'll turn data into actionable insights that shape decision-making, improve processes, and strengthen our commercial frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pricing Strategy & Execution – Develop, implement, and maintain robust pricing structures across categories and channels to drive sustainable growth.
  • Margin Optimisation – Identify margin opportunities, analyse cost-to-serve, and provide recommendations to improve profitability and contribution margins.
  • Analytics & Insights – Build and deliver insightful dashboards, pricing models, and KPI reporting to inform commercial decisions.
  • Governance & Controls – Ensure pricing frameworks, systems, and processes are compliant, transparent, and support effective decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with Sales, Finance, and Merchandise teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in commercial analysis, pricing, or margin management, ideally within retail, FMCG, or wholesale environments.
  • Strong financial modelling, pricing analytics, and data interpretation skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, or Commerce (CPA/CA highly regarded).
  • Advanced Excel capability and experience with ERP/pricing or BI systems.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, commercial insights.
