We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our busy finance team at our Melbourne Office on a full-time permanent basis.

You will be Responsible for:

Accounts Payable Responsibilities

  • Checking invoices, matching invoices to purchase orders/ delivery dockets before processing, review of invoices and distribution to relevant approvers
  • Managing queries & invoices sent to accounts inboxes, communication with external suppliers and maintain of supplier details accurate in system
  • Raising weekly and ad hoc payments
  • Fill in vendor application forms and set them up in system
  • Bank reconciliation for payment side
  • Monthly supplier statement reconciliation

Month – End Responsibilities

  • Managing inter-company transactions (recharge / processing)
  • Preparation and processing of EOM journals (accruals/ credit card, etc.)
  • Performing reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (e.g., bank, accruals, inter-company)
  • Assisting with weekly/ EOM report (e.g., subcontractors report, etc.)
  • Other Ad-hoc Accounting Tasks if required (e.g., assisting with external audits, etc.)

We would like to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in general ledger journals and accounting
  • Experience with SAP or similar (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy within Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Able to show initiative and be a self-starter
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and prioritise work to meet deadline
