The opportunity to join our team

We're looking for a passionate, technically skilled and business-savvy Senior Data Engineer to join our Marketing Data-Driven Customer Engagement team.

In this role, you'll own and deliver projects that architect and automate the data assets powering personalised customer experiences, retention strategies, and growth initiatives. You'll work closely with Marketing, IT, Digital, Data and Insights teams to build scalable solutions in Google BigQuery and leverage tools like Adobe Experience Platform, connecting online and offline data to unlock actionable insights.

This role goes beyond writing queries. You'll shape the strategic use of customer data across campaigns, provide mentorship to colleagues, and ensure the technical foundations are robust and scalable for long-term impact

Key Responsibilities:

• Scope, lead, and deliver end-to-end data engineering projects
• Design, build, and optimise scalable data products and models
• Build assets that power personalised journeys across onboarding, retention, upsell, and win-back campaigns
• Operationalise predictive models and segmentation logic
• Drive automation, machine learning integration, and process efficiency
• Translate marketing and business needs into technical solutions
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance
• Provide guidance to mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and embed best practices

What you will bring

• Deep hands-on expertise with Google BigQuery and advanced SQL
• Strong background in data architecture and engineering design patterns
• Experience with Adobe Experience Platform (or other CDPs)
• Exposure to machine learning models and customer lifecycle data
• Familiarity with tools like dbt, Airflow, Python
• Business context: understanding how marketing and customer analytics drive outcomes
• Ability to work independently and lead ambiguous, complex projects
