About the role

Simplyai' is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this full-time position based in Sydney, NSW, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure on the Snowflake platform. This is a strategic role that will have a significant impact on the company's ability to leverage data insights to drive business decision-making.

What you'll be doing

  • Design and implement robust, high-performance data pipelines using Snowflake and supporting technologies
  • Develop and maintain data models, schemas and ETL processes to ensure the integrity, reliability and timeliness of data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Monitor and optimise data infrastructure for performance, security and cost-effectiveness
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership on data engineering best practices
  • Mentor and guide more junior members of the data engineering team

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of experience as a data engineer or similar technical role
  • Extensive knowledge of Snowflake/ and its capabilities, including data warehousing, data engineering, and data application development
  • Proficiency in Oracle PLSQL, Python, and other data engineering tools and frameworks
  • Experience designing and implementing data pipelines, with a strong understanding of ETL and ELT processes
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data architectures and data management best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest data engineering trends and technologies
