Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Dedalus Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Do you want a job with a purpose?

And do you want to make healthcare safer, better and more reliable?

Join our Team

Join Dedalus, a global leader in healthcare technology, and help shape the future of digital healthcare as a
Systems Configuration Analyst
on our
ORBIS Electronic Health Record (EHR)
team in
Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.
This is your opportunity to do the most meaningful work of your career—enabling better care and healthier communities across Australia and New Zealand.

What you'll achieve

In this role, you'll be at the heart of our ORBIS EMR implementation, applying your technical expertise to configure and optimise one of the world's most advanced clinical systems. You'll collaborate with a passionate and highly skilled team—including Product Managers, Solution Architects, Clinical SMEs, and our healthcare clients—to ensure ORBIS is technically tailored to meet local clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements.

What you'll do

As a Systems Configuration Analyst, your expertise will be central to the successful implementation and optimisation of the ORBIS EMR system across Australia and New Zealand. Your day-to-day work will involve deep technical configuration, scripting, integration, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

You will:

  • Contribute to the technical configuration workstream within the ORBIS EMR implementation program for the ANZ region.
  • Design, customize, and implement ORBIS system configurations—such as templates, forms, workflows, and business rules—to meet clinical and operational requirements.
  • Apply scripting (JavaScript, SQL, Arden Syntax) and ORBIS-specific tools to define system logic, automate behaviours, and support clinical decision-making.
  • Configure integration interfaces and manage data transformation pipelines using HL7 and FHIR standards.
  • Ensure configuration governance through proper version control, documentation, and change management processes aligned with Dedalus global and regional standards.
  • Support data migration activities through data mapping, validation routines, and bulk import processes.
  • Participate in system testing phases including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and deployment readiness activities.
  • Contribute to clinical safety and quality assurance by ensuring all configurations align with patient safety goals and governance frameworks.
  • Promote DevOps and configuration automation practices to improve delivery efficiency, scalability, and consistency.

Take the next step in your career

At Dedalus, life flows through our software. Every day, we empower healthcare professionals to deliver more effective, connected, and compassionate care to the communities they serve. If you're ready to make a meaningful impact in healthcare through innovative technology, we'd love to hear from you. Here's what you'll need to succeed:

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in EMR/clinical system configuration or technical roles within healthcare technology.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • JavaScript and SQL scripting
  • HL7 (v2/v3), FHIR, and clinical coding standards (e.g., SNOMED CT-AU)
  • Arden Syntax for clinical decision support (highly desirable)
  • In-depth understanding of clinical workflows across hospital settings, including inpatient, emergency, pathology, and pharmacy.
  • Experience with version control, release management, and configuration lifecycle tooling.
  • Familiarity with integration platforms, service bus architecture, and APIs in healthcare environments.

Desirable Requirements

  • Prior experience with Dedalus systems such as ORBIS or i.CM.
  • Understanding of Australian digital health standards and interoperability frameworks.
  • Awareness of clinical safety risk management principles and TGA regulatory requirements for clinical software.
  • Experience working within hybrid delivery environments (e.g., Agile, DevOps, ITIL).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and stakeholder-focused mindset.
