Carnegie, Victoria, Australia Detector Inspector Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

About Us:

Detector Inspector began in 2005 when our founders, Jordan and Jason, recognised an opportunity to make a difference - we could help keep homes safer for renters and make safety compliance easier for property managers.

What started with smoke detector maintenance has evolved into a range of services, including gas appliance servicing and electrical safety checks, all supported by our proprietary technology and self-service client portal.

With Australia's first in-house developed safety compliance system for real estate, Detector Inspector is a technology-driven company committed to continuous improvement and innovative solutions. Regulatory changes are driving demand for our services nationwide, and we're growing fast—that's where you come in.

About the Role:

We're seeking a forward-thinking Product Manager for AI Enablement & Automation to drive initiatives that unlock efficiencies, reduce costs, and lay the foundation for broader AI adoption across our business.

In this role, you will develop product strategy, manage a portfolio of automation initiatives, and ensure solutions deliver measurable business impact across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and manage the roadmap for automation initiatives, balancing quick wins with long-term platform capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Translate business needs into clear initiatives and lead go-to-market and adoption strategies.
  • Evangelism & Communication: Champion AI/automation products internally, communicate vision and progress, and drive change management.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Provide context and direction to teams, maintain a clear backlog, and ensure solutions align with business priorities.
  • User Research & Analysis: Gather and analyse user insights, validate ideas, and measure outcomes.
  • Product Operations: Lead release management, training, and documentation, tracking cost savings and efficiency improvements.

About you:

We're looking for someone who can think strategically while executing with precision, balancing short-term wins with a long-term vision. You are an excellent communicator and presenter, have a data-driven mindset, and a genuine curiosity and passion for emerging technologies, particularly AI and automation. You lead through influence, fostering alignment across teams and inspiring collaboration to deliver meaningful business outcomes. In addition, you bring:

  • Relevant post-secondary qualification or substantial relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' product management experience with a proven track record of delivering impactful initiatives.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) and acting as a Product Owner.
  • Skilled at managing complex stakeholders and influencing without authority.
  • Ability to translate complex challenges into simple, elegant solutions.
  • Familiarity with AI, automation, SaaS, or enterprise platforms is highly desirable.

Why Join Us

  • Work in a supportive, collaborative culture, partnering closely with internal teams to bring solutions to life.
  • Lead and shape AI and automation initiatives that deliver real business impact.
  • Competitive salary and flexible working arrangements, including the potential for remote working.
  • Thrive in a forward-thinking culture with modern technology and supportive leadership.

How to Apply:

At Detector Inspector we believe in opportunities for all and we're passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that represents our community. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds who share our workplace values.
