About the Role

We are seeking applications for the role of Associate Producer - First Nations (Identified). This is an essential role to produce, present and manage a series of First Nations projects and programs to the highest artistic, technical and financial standards QPAC's program of events. In this role you will:

  • Producing, to the highest possible standard, First Nations projects and productions within QPAC's annual program, that vary in scale, presentation mode and level of complexity.
  • Creating and developing projects and productions by QPAC independently or in partnership with other artists and companies.
  • Identifying and evaluating projects and programs for consideration as part of QPAC's annual program. This includes preparation of assessment material on artistic programs under consideration by QPAC which will include presentation scenarios, marketing, and risk analysis.
  • Collaborating and co-creating processes and outcomes with and within various communities (these may be built around geography, interest, demographics) across Queensland.
  • With the relevant supervisors, managing project requirements, which may include negotiating, preparing, and managing contracts, preparing, controlling, monitoring, and reporting against project budgets, monitoring ticket sales and targets, coordinating event delivery requirements, monitoring and reporting on the artistic program, and other administrative event and documentation materials. This includes advising on the marketing campaigns, identifying audiences, developing campaigns, and producing effective collateral and digital resources in liaison with QPAC's Marketing Unit.
  • Maintaining, monitoring, and reporting against project budgets.
  • Collaborating with marketing and other teams to identify audiences, develop campaigns and produce effective collateral and digital resources.
  • Managing production requirements and logistical matters.
  • Monitoring ticket sales and targets for delegated projects.
  • With the relevant team members, collaborating with local, intra, interstate and international organisations, creatives, industry, learning and funding partners on audience and industry development.
  • Liaising effectively with the different departments within QPAC to ensure the delivery of projects and events
  • Representing QPAC at industry forums and community functions.
  • Work collaboratively with the entire Curatorial team to support the achievement of QPAC's curatorial and strategic objective.
About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for:

  • Relevant professional or tertiary qualification in the arts, arts management, business administration and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in producing.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with a broad range of people and successfully negotiate issues of a complex and sensitive nature.
  • Knowledge in one or more performing art forms.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, produce and manage arts projects of a complex nature with multiple stakeholders and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake, organise and prioritise multiple and complex projects from initial stages through to completion.
  • Excellent leadership capability and demonstrated ability to effectively manage and lead a team of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage a budget.
  • Strong local and national network in the performing arts.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours where required.
