About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented architectural designer with strong drafting skills to scope and document residential projects from concept through to construction. The ideal candidate will be confident producing accurate drawings for joinery, cabinetry, tiling layouts, and construction details, and will also enjoy being part of a team where designers work closely with the site crew — and occasionally assist with installation to ensure cohesion between intent and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural documentation sets including DA/CC/IFC drawings
  • Scope and resolve joinery and cabinetry layouts for kitchens, bathrooms, and custom storage
  • Produce tiling layout drawings and detailed construction sections
  • Collaborate with site teams to provide clarification and refinements as needed
  • Work closely with architects, builders, and consultants to coordinate design outcomes
  • Assist with on-site joinery installation or custom element fit-off when required
  • Participate in design reviews and offer buildability insights to improve outcomes

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in architectural drafting and documentation
  • Proficiency in CAD software (ArchiCAD preferred, or equivalent)
  • Ability to produce detailed joinery and internal layout drawings
  • Strong spatial awareness and confidence resolving construction detailing
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with workshop and on-site teams
  • Willingness to occasionally contribute hands-on during fabrication or installation phases

Desirable

  • Knowledge of sustainable or Passive House construction practices
  • Familiarity with natural materials and low-tox finishes
  • Workshop or fabrication experience (even if limited)
