OurAssembly Technicians/Vehicle Fittersare primarily responsible for all works relating to the manufacture and assembly of new trailers and other Bruce Rock Engineering equipment.

This position is/includes:

  • Full-time permanent & casual role available
  • Monday – Friday local role
  • Penalties paid for overtime worked

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Assemble, service and repair road transport equipment accurately and efficiently, adhering to BRE's high quality standards.
  • Read and interpret drawings and assembly instructions accurately.
  • Install various components including axles, wheels, brakes, suspension systems, electrical systems, and other trailer-specific parts in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of assembled trailers to identify and rectify any defects, ensuring all trailers meet or exceed quality and safety standards before finalisation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any mechanical issues or discrepancies that arise during assembly, working to find effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed assembly tasks, including part usage, hours worked, and any issues encountered during the assembly process.
  • Perform all duties whilst adhering to WHS requirements.
  • Follow systems and procedures & fill out checklists and paperwork.
  • Adhere to workplace safety requirements and always use PPE correctly.

About you:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience required.
  • Experience in Heavy Duty Road Transport manufacturing (trucks and trailers).
  • Sound knowledge trailer electrical and lighting systems.
  • Hold a current LF (forklift) licence or willing and able to obtain one.
  • Sound knowledge of hydraulics and PTO systems used in tippers (desirable).
  • Sound knowledge of AIR braking systems, as well as ABS/EBS (desirable).
  • Experience of working with overhead cranes (desirable).
  • Flexibility to work at other sites as & when required.
  • Ability to work within time constraints and meet deadlines.
