Assembly Technician - Mining Equipment

Hitachi Construction Machinery has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team working on new machine site builds in the mining industry. As part of this permanent role, you will be responsible for ensuring all new machine assembly is completed as scheduled while maintaining the quality of all machines assembled on site.

The ideal candidate will have relevant Australian mobile plant trade qualifications and previous experience with the assembly, overhaul, repair, and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on construction and/or mining equipment. Strong communication skills, dedication to providing quality work, and certification in Forklift/Dogging/Rigging and Working at Heights are also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all new machine assembly is completed as scheduled while maintaining the quality of all machines assembled on site.
  • Complete onsite builds and commissioning for mining equipment as scheduled, setting and maintaining a high quality of work.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards within your allocated area.
  • Liaise closely with the mining assembly supervisor and leading hand to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery targets are achieved.
  • Assist the mining assembly leading hand with other related duties.
  • Responsible for delivery and site assembly of mining machines.
  • Responsible to maintain build tooling, containers, and Hydraulic Power Pack units.

Requirements:

  • Hold relevant Australian mobile plant trade qualifications.
  • Have previous experience with the assembly, overhaul, repair, and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on construction and/or mining equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and dedication to providing quality work.
  • Must have Forklift/Dogging/Rigging and Working at Heights certifications.
