The Finance Division plays a critical role in supporting Council's financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and compliance. The division comprises of Accounting Services teams, which oversees budgeting, business partnering, financial reporting, audits, and asset accounting and Revenue & Payables team, which manages Council's rating revenue, debt recovery, corporate property data, and accounts payable functions. Together, these teams ensure the effective financial management of Council's operations and resources, supporting service delivery to the community.

About the Role

We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Admin Support Officer to join our Finance team for a 12-month contract. In this role, you'll provide confidential administrative support and play a key role in ensuring accurate registration of corporate records, supporting accounts receivables and payable functions, and helping maintain data integrity across our property and financial databases. You'll also assist with customer enquiries and ensure timely, professional support to both internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Finance Services team.
  • Accurately register corporate records and correspondence into our records management system.
  • Prepare invoices for scanning and processing.
  • Assist with monthly and ad-hoc journal entries to relevant ledgers.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts in a professional and customer-friendly manner.
  • Reconcile and analyse transactional data as required.
  • Counsel and negotiate with ratepayers who are facing difficult financial circumstances.
  • Respond to customer enquiries about accounts payable/receivable in a timely, courteous manner.
