About the Role
VenuesWest is looking for an experienced technical events specialist to coordinate the planning and delivery of back of house requirements and liaise with production companies and clients to interpret events & bookings technical requirements for lighting, sound, stage, audio-visual, and floor plans to ensure the safe and effective presentation and running of events including sporting and concert events.
The Technical Operations Coordinator coordinates the set up and operation of all technical booking specifications and provides specialist advice to staff, management and our clients. This is a hands-on role involved in the physical set-up of events, operation of technical equipment and supervision of technical equipment service scheduling.
At VenuesWest, one of our of signature behaviours is to deliver safely and the successful candidate will have great technical skills with a strong focus on safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment at all times and ensures all event equipment and facilities meet WH&S legislative requirements and are operated in a safe manner.
We currently have one full time position available. The role is based in Mount Claremont at Perth High Performance Centre; however, mobility will be required between our portfolio of venues. The position will require working outside of normal business hours on a regular basis to meet event requirements.
Due to the nature of the work undertaken, this position may be exposed to traumatic events in the workplace. VenuesWest is committed to proactively ensuring the psychosocial safety and health of our workers through risk control and provision of services to support workers exposed to and impacted by traumatic events.

About the Person
The ideal candidate should bring relevant expertise in Event Technical Planning, Event Production, Event Rigging & Dogging and Workplace Health & Safety. You will have demonstrated experience in leading and supporting a team, along with strong training skills to develop your team and excellent customer service skills for effective liaison skills with stakeholders who have technical requirements.
