Director of Information Technology | Permanent full-time

Suitably experienced and qualified applicants are invited to apply for this permanent, Director of Information Technology position, commencing immediately.

The opportunity

An opportunity has arisen within the College for an experienced and strategic leader to oversee the Information Technology services. The Director of IT will ensure the effective, secure, and innovative delivery of technology systems and services that support the College's teaching, learning, and operational objectives. This role will play a key part in shaping the College's digital strategy and driving continual improvement across all areas of technology.

About the role

The role is responsible for the strategic management and delivery of the College's Information Technology services, in alignment with the mission statement and strategic plan. The Director of IT will focus on ensuring the reliability, security, and effectiveness of IT systems, managing infrastructure and digital resources, and providing strategic advice and support to senior leaders and operational staff across the College.

About you

You will demonstrate:


• Proven success in leading and mentoring high-performing IT teams, fostering collaboration and professional growth.


• Strategic thinking, with the ability to translate organisational goals into effective technology solutions.


• Expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, applications, database development, and emerging technologies.


• Experience driving digital transformation projects and innovation initiatives.


• Strong project management skills, including managing budgets, vendor relationships, and technology implementation projects.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with data-driven decision-making skills.


• Adaptability, organisational skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation, particularly in the education sector.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 8 years' senior IT leadership experience in complex organisations.


• Proven success in developing and implementing IT strategies, leading digital transformation initiatives, and driving technological innovation.


• Strong expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, applications and database development, and emerging technologies.


• Experience managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, technology projects, and applying project management principles to deliver effective solutions.
