We are looking for experienced Residential Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team to:
Support people with disabilities to live independently and to achieve their personal goals.
Provide direct support for individuals during program delivery, meal times, personal care, behavioral, physical and social supports.
Create a positive environment for all residents promoting both physical and emotional well-being.
Provide quality services and results, by the relationships formed between staff, the people we support, their families and representatives.
Communicating with resident's families and day program on a regular basis.
Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout the opportunity;
To be considered for this role, you will need the following:
A strong knowledge of disability, including complex communication and behaviour, either through qualifications or demonstrated experience in the field.
Applicants must be highly motivated, energetic and committed to providing the highest quality of care and support to people with a disability and be willing to support residents in a variety of activities in a variety of settings.
Flexibility and availability is essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts: morning, day, afternoon, sleepovers, evening and weekends.
Experience in providing care to high care residents (hoists, transfers, bed transfers).
A strong understanding of NDIS Code of Conduct and Best Practice Standards.
Exceptional listening, reading and communication skills, with the ability to recognise and interpret non-verbal cues.
A detailed and thorough approach to record keeping.
