Intro

More Than Support is a NDIS registered service provider operating in Victoria and Queensland. Our company provides a variety of services including personal care, mobility assistance, nursing care, travel and transportation, community participation, specialised disability accommodation, supported independence living, support coordinator (level 2 and level 3), counselling, psychology, and others.

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our Melbourne team (Western Suburbs). The position will work in a dynamic environment, providing an integrated and flexible model of care to our participants. This care can involve in-home care, community access and companionship. This role provides experience in direct client care, flexible working hours, an inclusive and vibrant community, training and professional development and a rewarding career. This is a causal position that provides flexible shifts that can work around your schedule.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting people with daily living skills such as shopping, cooking, travel, training
  • Connecting and linking people into the community with local activities and

    recreational interests.
  • Providing meal assistance and meal preparation.
  • Medication prompting assistance and monitoring.
  • Assisting with showering, dressing and personal care related tasks with the use of manual handling aids if appropriate.
  • Basis tasks that may include booking appointments, assisting with shopping, paying bills, liaising with service coordinator.
  • Accompany to social group and other activities if required.
  • Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.Providing emotional support for an individual and their families.
  • Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen
  • Australian Drivers License (Own Car)
  • National Police Check
  • First Aid Certificate (It lasts for two years)
  • All required certificates must be held before commencing employment
  • CPR Certificate (It lasts for a year)
  • Working With Children Check (employee)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience working with people with disabilities is required
