You'll work closely with stakeholders across departments and geographies, including mentoring junior analysts and supporting organisational development initiatives.

About The Role
As a Senior Data Analyst III, you will lead analytics efforts and projects with full autonomy, from defining scope and approach to delivering actionable insights and business recommendations. You will be a thought leader in your domain, creating advanced insights that extend into adjacent areas of expertise and designing best practices that elevate analytics across the organisation.

This role demands a strategic mindset and hands-on technical expertise. You will provide leadership and mentorship to the Data team, fostering a collaborative environment and enhancing team capabilities. You'll manage complex analytics and data projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope, while overseeing key functional spaces of data visualisations optimising its efficiency, scalability, and security.

You will actively support organisational development by training stakeholders in analytics best practices and promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making. Your responsibilities will also include, developing and maintaining data models and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define analytics requirements and delivering impactful solutions.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, influencing strategic decisions, and driving continuous improvement in data processes, governance, and technology adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Data team, fostering a collaborative environment and enhancing team skills.
  • Lead analytics efforts and projects independently, including defining scope and approach.
  • Manage projects to ensure timely delivery within scope and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enforce data quality and governance, assess and implement new technologies, and monitor analytics solution performance for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain data models and products that support advanced analytics and reporting requirements.
  • Aim to uncover meaningful insights and deliver actionable business recommendations
  • Drive and develop new dashboards when new products are launched.
  • Continuously optimise data processes and workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Perform data analysis and profiling to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps.
  • Consolidate data accurately from various sources to conduct analysis and present findings & insights.
  • In a team setting, add value to conversations to develop, construct, install, test, and maintain data architectures (databases, large-scale processing systems, and data pipelines) that support ETL and Data Visualisations processes.
  • Write technical and release documentation including specifications, testing strategies, and performance benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to understand data needs and define analytics requirements.
  • Identify and make recommendations for improvement to existing processes and procedures.
  • Endorse and advocate for the benefit of change initiatives to functional leaders.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 6-9 years of relevant experience in data analytics.
  • Strong business facing stakeholder management and project leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale strategic analytics programs.
  • Excel in teaching and directing others with a supportive and caring demeanor.
  • Demonstrates expert proficiency in preparing data using a variety of tools and programming languages. (SQL, Python, R)
  • Ability to effectively leverage big data platforms to maximize analytical value.
  • Can design and create compelling visualizations to influence stakeholders.
  • Able to identify opportunities and barriers, suggest solutions, and bring these to the attention of others, including those outside of the analytics team.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data modelling, statistical analysis, and data blending.
  • Deep understanding of industry trends and adjacent disciplines.
  • Experience in designing and maintaining scalable data architectures and pipelines.
  • Experience with customer usage data; how are subscribers using a system.
  • Financial / Accounting background. Including monthly closing processes, adjustment processes, contract management, and variance analysis.
  • Solid networking background: ability to design & troubleshoot firewall access & connectivity issues between systems.

Platforms & Tools

  • Extensive use of Databricks & the Medalion Architecture
  • Extensive use of Amazon Redshift
  • Business Events Data / Metadata Tagging Systems
  • Python libraries central to Analytics & ML (Scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI / Tableau
  • Microsoft Fabric Ecosystem
  • Database Management Tools (DBeaver, SSMS, etc.)
  • Machine Learning & Predictive Analytics Modelling is Advantageous
