The Opportunity

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for analysing, documenting and translating business requirements and identifying improvements to business systems, processes and workflows enabling key stakeholders to make informed decisions to meet strategic and operational business needs of NSW Health.

Key accountabilities for this position:

  • Partner with key stakeholders and effectively engage and negotiate while managing their expectations in defining business and functional requirements to ensure the design of scalable systems that supports current and future business requirements.
  • Plan, analyse, design, develop, test, and continuously improve business systems though contemporary analysis on best-practice methodologies and processes to drive operational efficiency and business improvements.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation including Program Statements of Work, Business Requirements Definitions, Functional Design Specifications, Process Maps, Change Impact Assessments, Test Cases, and Data Dictionaries to optimise business outcomes.
  • Facilitate customised interviews, focus groups, and meetings with relevant stakeholders to gather insights, facilitate collaboration including analysing customer feedback and insights to enable impactful recommendations for system improvements that align with business and user needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on developed systems and liaison between business stakeholders and development resources; and provide plain language advice on complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Proactively assess, identify, and report any issues or risks that may impact project implementation's timely delivery and quality, providing meaningful recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Analyse and interpret data using various statistical techniques to provide meaningful insights to support informed decision making.
