About the Role

We're seeking a technically brilliant and detail-driven Solution Designer & Technical Lead
 to lead the end-to-end design and delivery of premium smart home systems. You will work closely with our team, installers, programmers, and clients to ensure every system is elegantly designed, functionally sound, and a delight to live with.

This role owns the technical blueprint across lighting, AV, climate, security, intercom, and automation controls. You'll define how we wire, how we design, and how we deliver. It is a blend of design leadership, hands-on technical work, and customer-facing collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead solution architecture for home automation projects, from builder drawings to final install packs
  • Prepare detailed system designs, schematics, rack layouts, cabling diagrams, and component lists
  • Define and maintain AutoNest design standards, installation templates and technical documentation
  • Translate builder plans and client briefs into scalable, buildable solutions
  • Liaise with installers, programmers and clients to ensure end-to-end execution quality
  • Review product compatibility, part availability, and integration risks before project kick-off
  • Lead technical handovers and assist in troubleshooting escalations on-site or remotely
  • Contribute to R&D, testing of new products, and continuous improvement of our offerings

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in AV, control systems, Engineering, Home Automation, or similar technical design roles
  • Strong knowledge of smart home platforms (Control4, Savant, KNX, Home Assistant, Lutron, etc…)
  • Ability to produce clear, professional system drawings using 

     and/or 
    CAD tools
     (desired)
  • Desirable: Programming, Computer Science, Engineering, AV or Control Systems background
  • Customer service or client-facing experience is highly regarded
  • Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable engaging directly with customers, builders and trades on-site
