Educational Case Management is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner to join our thriving, supportive multi-disciplinary team in Hamilton and Rutherford. Educational Case Management Pty Ltd comprises of a multidisciplinary team of highly professional Psychologists, Counsellors, Social Workers, Behavioural Support Practitioners, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants providing therapy for a range of clients, with a diverse range of needs, across the life span.

The successful candidate would have a serious passion towards Behavioural Management and eager for greater challenges and personal growth. As a registered NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner at the Core + 1 year minimum experience or Proficient level, or above, you will be given the opportunity to develop and implement behaviour support plans and focus on managing and modifying challenging behaviours.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework, enabling them to confidently and independently uphold and implement the rights and responsibilities outlined in a behaviour support plan.

As a Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner at Educational Case Management, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex behaviours and needs.

As a valued Positive Behavioural Support Practitioner at Educational Case Management, you will:

  • Provide evidence-based therapies (training provided) through different types of service delivery, including individual and group, in line with The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
  • Receive External supervision, Weekly two-hour Peer Support with Behavioural Therapists, Psychologists, Counsellors and Social Workers
  • Attend weekly Multidisciplinary Team meetings
  • Ability to independently manage diary, including Client scheduling, Report Writing, and Clinical Administration
  • Drive your own professional development from your allocated Professional Development Funds that meets your clinical passion and specialty interests
  • Administer screeners and assessments and create quality clinical reports and therapy plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic, person-centred approach
  • Conduct comprehensive behavioural assessments to identify the functions and triggers of challenging behaviours
  • Develop and implement tailored positive behaviour support plans that empower individuals to develop adaptive skills and self-regulation
  • Develop, implement, and monitor restrictive practices outlined in the behaviour support plan.
  • Provide training and coaching to support workers, families and carers to effectively implement behaviour support strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support interventions, making adjustments as needed
  • Maintain detailed case notes and records in line with organisational and regulatory requirement
  • Maintain productivity by completing 6 billable hours a day. Billable hours include but are not limited to, face-to-face clients, report writing, liaising with external stakeholders and resource creation.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • A Tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related Field and Membership or Accreditation with Relevant Professional Body
  • NDIS behaviour support practitioner identification: Core + minimum 1 year experience, or Proficient or higher capability level is required for this position
  • Extensive knowledge of positive behaviour supports principles and restricted practices
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • A valid driver's license and comprehensively-insured vehicle
  • Experience in working with children, adolescents, and families
  • A collaborative, enthusiastic, and client-focused approach
  • An Employee WWCC, NDIS Worker Check & Police Check
  • First Aid
  • Mental Health First Aid
