  • Melbourne (Northern Suburbs)
  • Salary package circa $180K + 10% bonus

About the Company

Our client has been manufacturing textiles in Melbourne for over 60 years and has built an iconic Australian brand which is widely recognisable. Due to business transformation, including expansion, they have created a seat at the executive table for a suitably experienced and contemporary HSE Leader.

Primary Purpose:

The HSE Lead will develop, implement, and lead the HSE strategy in consultation with the leadership team and promote a proactive approach to safety and environmental performance, building a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and drive the HSE strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Work closely with the leadership team and broader management to develop and implement the sustainability strategy.

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Conduct internal audits, develop and maintain audit tools, create audit schedules, and facilitate audit completion.

Experience We Seek

To be successfully shortlisted for this position, we welcome candidates with proven HSE Leadership experience – either in manufacturing, supply chain or a transferable industry. You'll view change resistance as an opportunity. We will be especially interested in candidates who can demonstrate their ability to achieve cultural change. Tertiary qualifications in health and safety will be anticipated.

Why Apply?

Opportunities like this do not arise often The CEO has expressed their commitment to ensuring the success of the HSE Lead role and has a strong desire to transform the safety culture – it's about showing them what good looks like. There's also a budget (within reason) to introduce technology and you'll be joining a company with high employee engagement (as per their engagement surveys).
