About the Role
As the HSE Manager – Delivery, you'll play a key role in overseeing health, safety, and environmental performance across the delivery phase of major renewable energy projects. This is a newly created, client-side role designed to provide governance, assurance, and engagement rather than day-to-day site supervision.
Working closely with the Delivery team and corporate stakeholders, you'll partner with principal contractors and external consultants to ensure that HSE standards are upheld across all stages of construction delivery. This position offers a mix of strategic oversight, audit coordination, and relationship management, perfect for someone who enjoys influencing outcomes rather than enforcing compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee HSE governance and assurance activities across the delivery portfolio.
- Liaise with principal contractors to ensure compliance with contractual and legislative requirements.
- Coordinate and review independent audits and investigations, partnering with external consultants.
- Facilitate safety engagement forums and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and present high-quality HSE reporting to senior leadership.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on principal contractor obligations.
- Support a positive, solutions-focused safety culture built on collaboration and shared accountability.
About You
You're a polished and influential HSE professional who thrives in a collaborative, client-side environment. You bring a strong understanding of construction safety principles, particularly around principal contractor frameworks, and are confident engaging at both site and corporate levels.
Your background might include large infrastructure, utilities, or renewables projects, but more importantly, you're a strong communicator and relationship builder who can bridge the gap between delivery teams, contractors, and corporate stakeholders.
You'll bring:
- Significant HSE experience in major project delivery (client-side preferred).
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and principal contractor obligations.
- Experience interpreting and managing safety requirements within contracts.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A collaborative mindset, no finger pointing, just teamwork.
- Willingness to travel to project sites (approx. once per month).
