The Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) is a small not for profit members-based organisation. Its mission is to lead, represent, develop and support Australian critical care nurses.
The ACCCN Communications and Engagement Lead is a newly created position within the ACCCN National Office team. As the Communications and Engagement Lead you will have responsibility in developing and implementing brand, advocacy and communication and engagement strategies that position ACCCN as the leading membership organisation representing critical care nurses in Australia. The Communications and Engagement Lead will deliver innovative and effective communication, marketing and stakeholder engagement strategies with the aim to increase and deliver to membership.
Working virtually and reporting directly to the National Operations Manager, you will be responsible for aspects of marketing, public relations, brand management, media strategy, stakeholder engagement and visual design while playing a significant role in shaping organisational strategy and growth. You will be instrumental in enhancing ACCCN's online presence, engaging with our audience, and effectively communicating our message across various digital platforms.
This role requires a creative, proactive, and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of social media trends and best practices. The ideal candidate brings three years of experience across marketing, engagement, exceptional relationship management skills, strategic thinking capabilities, proven track record of leading projects successfully with an understanding of healthcare systems and critical care. Specific Duties:
In this role you will:
- Develop, and implement a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy aligned with ACCCN's objectives.
- Cultivate strong and meaningful relationships that foster collaboration with members, partners, professional organisations, critical care professionals, internal and external committees and governments to increase awareness and engagement with ACCCN.
- Deliver competing priorities to a high standard, bringing energy and drive to progressing work with a commitment to getting the job done, during a time of change.
- Provide high-level, expert advice and support to the National Operations Manager and CEO regarding stakeholder engagement activities.
- Development and execute an integrated brand, communications and advocacy strategy that elevates ACCCN's goals, driving clear, measurable goals for the College.
- Communications: Shape dynamic, evidence-based communications across traditional media, digital platforms and emerging channels, ensuring clear, consistent messaging that informs, influences and mobilises the community.
- Brand: Champion a trusted brand that inspires action, deepens engagement and strengthens ACCCN's reputation through creating compelling narratives and mini campaigns driven by an external relations strategy.
- Leadership: Be a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board, actively participating in a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration, supporting ACCCN to grow and celebrate achievements.
Capabilities:
- To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate the relevant skills and experience:
- Proven experience and strong understanding of social media platforms, their respective audiences, best practices in delivering social media accounts for a business or organisation, demonstrating measurable success.
- Proficiency in creating engaging visual content.
- Formal qualifications are highly regarded - a degree, diploma or post graduate diploma, with a major in public relations, communications, marketing or stakeholder engagement.
- A minimum of three years' experience in a related role or communications discipline
- Have proven ability to deliver and evaluate communication, public relations and stakeholder engagement strategies that achieve results.
- Possess excellent organisation and time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high work standards.
- Have innovative, creative thinking that allows you to think outside of traditional approaches to meet objectives and budget requirements.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively manage interpersonal relationships with respect and communicate with influence with internal and external stakeholders including partners, community groups, other agencies, external suppliers.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity.
- Ideally, experience in the health or non-profit sectors, with knowledge of critical care as a desirable.
