The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) incorporating the Faculty of Pain Medicine, is an internationally recognised specialist medical education institution responsible for the training, examinations, specialist qualification, and continuing professional development of all anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand.

The college's purpose is to serve our communities by leading high quality patient care in anaesthesia, perioperative and pain medicine, optimizing health and reducing the burden of pain.

About the opportunity:

As a Finance Business Partner, you will provide end-to-end financial and business support to key internal stakeholders across multiple corporate and operational business units. You will contribute to financial planning, analysis, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering accurate financial analysis, modelling, and reporting to support and influence decision-making.
  • Leading initiatives to enhance finance systems and processes.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to business units and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

This is an internally focused role, maintaining a continuous improvement approach and providing expertise in the development and implementation of key projects as required.  This position reports to the General Manager – Finance & Governance.

Specifically, you will have:

Essential:

  • A tertiary qualification in business or finance and professional membership of a recognized accounting body e.g. CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
  • Strong experience in a similar role including:
  • Successful track record as a finance partner to business stakeholders
  • Proven understanding of financial management and accounting concepts and processes, financial modelling and analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
  • Project Accounting experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Well-developed verbal communication skills; the ability to present and explain complex financial concepts in easy-to-understand language.
  • Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated ability to write reports, policies and procedures.
  • Planning and organising skills, the ability to establish and maintain systems and procedures to ensure that work is completed to the required standards within set timelines.
  • Strong initiative; self-starter with ability to operate autonomously.
  • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders
  • Strong team orientation, the ability to work collaboratively as a part of an inter-professional team
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong IT skills:

  • Experienced in the use of accounting/business systems and software, with the aptitude to learn new systems

  • Advanced level: MS Excel, MS Word & PowerPoint & Outlook
