Kabi Kabi Peoples Aboriginal Corporation (KKPAC) represents the Kabi Kabi peoples who are the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters extending from the North Pine River near Brisbane to Burrum River near Maryborough, including the Sunshine Coast, Gympie and the Conondale Ranges.
KKPAC is working closely with Queensland Hydro to ensure that Kabi Kabi interests, values and knowledge are embedded throughout the Borumba Pumped Hydro Project and the project's Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Indigenous Impact Assessment (IIA). This includes ensuring meaningful involvement of Kabi Kabi people in shaping how the project is assessed and understood.
The Project Support Officer (PSO) will be a vital part of the Borumba Project team, providing hands-on support with administration, coordination and logistics to keep the project running smoothly. This is a fast- paced and high-volume role that sits at the heart of a complex project. The PSO will be able to smoothly handle multiple priorities against competing deadlines while helping drive effective communication between KKPAC and its consultants, government and community stakeholders.

Reporting to the Executive Project Lead, key responsibilities include:
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the Borumba Project team, including scheduling, correspondence, minute-taking and task tracking
- Prepare project materials such as reports, presentations, registers and updates for Directors and stakeholders
- Maintain project records including task lists, registers, document versions and file structures in line with KKPAC systems
- Support onboarding and coordination of consultants and working group members
- Assist with internal communication and collaboration across the KKPAC team and external stakeholders (e.g. Queensland Hydro, Coordinator-General, consultants
- Liaise with project partners to track progress, identify delays and follow up on actions
- Provide support to ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Board, members and partner agencies
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in managing sensitive and cultural information
- Provide backfill or relief support to the EIS Coordinator if unavailable (e.g. meeting coordination, consultant liaison, status reporting
The successful candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a project support or coordination role within a complex environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare agendas, minutes and briefing notes
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience coordinating across internal and external stakeholders including consultants, community, and government agencies
- Understanding of cultural protocols and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal communities
- Physical ability to work in the field when required
- Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in a discipline related to the studies comprising the Borumba Project EIS
- Experience working on environmental, cultural heritage or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with EIS processes, government engagement or Indigenous Impact Assessment
