The Role

We are seeking a Systems Engineer with current TSPV clearance to support a small, secure on-site environment in Canberra. This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional who enjoys a mix of system administration, infrastructure maintenance, and collaborating with stakeholders.

You will work closely with our senior technical leadership team and have opportunities to engage with emerging technologies, including Everfox cross-domain solutions (CDS) and insider risk platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support for a small on-site IT environment, including Windows servers, network devices, laptops, and storage appliances.
  • Perform routine system administration tasks, including User account management, System health monitoring, Backup verification and maintenance, and Troubleshooting applications such as search and indexing tools
  • Maintain and update system documentation and procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly system health reports.
  • Manage hardware inventory and asset tracking.
  • Support occasional after-hours and weekend maintenance activities for system sustainment.
  • Participate in regular client meetings (weekly) and internal technical assurance program meetings (fortnightly).
  • Collaborate with senior engineers for complex troubleshooting and planned improvements.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Current
    TSPV security clearance
  • Proven experience in system administration in Windows server environments
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (LAN switching, media converters, basic troubleshooting)
  • Knowledge of storage systems (SAN/NAS)
  • Ability to prepare simple reports and maintain documentation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously

Desirable:

  • Exposure to Linux administration
  • Experience with Elasticsearch or similar indexing/reporting tools
  • Familiarity with Defence ICT environments or DISP compliance frameworks
  • Interest in emerging security technologies, including Everfox CDS and insider risk tools
