Electrical & Automation Trainer

Techlearn is a small private, Australian owned and operated, training organisation headquartered in Perth Western Australia where a vacancy exists for an industrial automation workshop facilitator. Our industrial automation business specialises in the training of engineering and support staff in electro-technical and industrial automation system disciplines throughout Australasia. You will be joining a dedicated team of individuals specialising in the provision of 'site specific' customised training workshops to a wide range of industries and clients primarily within Western Australia.

We are currently looking to appoint anElectrical & Automation Trainerreporting to the General Manager - Operations & Training. You will be reviewing, enhancing, and improving the current training material and provide on-site training of Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation systems across various client sites based predominantly in Western Australia.

· Perth based role with ad hoc site travel.

· Additional training where required to support and maintain technical competency.

As an Electrical & Automation Traineryou will be required to:

• Deliver site-specific training, both in-house and at our customer's sites across Western Australia.
• Liaise with our new and existing customers to identify site specific learning outcomes and assessment criteria for a 'tailored' workshop delivery.
• Maintain and continue to develop instructional/platform skills.
• Maintain classroom equipment in good working condition.
• Report any issues that impact delivery or customer satisfaction to management immediately, following up with details in an Instructor Course Assessment Form (ICAF).
• Communicate with students to identify follow-on opportunities for training and/or product or service sales.
• Diagnose student performance weaknesses and select appropriate remedial activities.
• Analyse student evaluations and take appropriate actions to solve any noted deficiencies.
• Monitor class evaluations to assure customer satisfaction.
• Comply with client vendor management system and on-site mobilisation requirements.
• Participate in occasional consulting opportunities generated via TechLearn training activities.

Minimum Qualifications & Preferred Experience

• Degree in Electrical, Control System, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Previous teaching experience in Industrial Automation Control field (PLCs, Drives, Motion Control, Industrial Networking, etc.)
• Detailed understanding of functional safety (SIL 1,2,3).
• Experience using and programming Rockwell Automation hardware including ControlLogix5000 controllers, Power drives, Flex IO, DeviceNet, and HMIs using Studio 5000, and other FactoryTalk software.
• Experience using and programming Schneider Automation hardware including M-Series controllers, Wonderware and CITECT SCADA HMI software.
• Experience with VVVF drive systems, including control system configuration and interfacing.
• Industrial communications awareness with good appreciation for Ethernet based systems.
• Experience with Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Communication
