Electrical Design Drafter

*Position Summary:*
As a Design Drafter you will provide support to Electrical Designers and the control system engineering team, by assuming responsibility for accurately drafting electrical control schematics for assigned projects that meet SAGE drawing standards.

The position is allowed independent action to prepare drawings from the concept to customer stage and resolve problems as they arise whilst keeping the Electrical Designer informed. The position is expected to deliver projects on time and within budget and when requested, undertake estimates for smaller projects.

• In this role you will:
• Produce drawings and equipment lists for PLC, Safety and control systems using packages such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and/or Microstation.
• Preparation of all aspects of drawing sets, structure, content and associated drawings for complex units/assemblies for whole projects.
• Draft complex PLC and network control architecture considering safety and quality requirements.
• Retrieve and apply information supplied by Electrical Designers, Engineers and customers to prepare and revise drawing specifications.
• In consultation with Electrical Designers, continuously review project specifications and customer requirements to ensure conformance with specifications, quality and safety standards.
• Oversee project tasks and budgets and regularly communicate progress to Electrical Designers.
• Ability to prepare schematics for electrical control projects that do not conform to existing precedents.
• Ability to translate electrical system concepts to the design and development of schematics.
• Ability to review project specifications and requirements that ensure conformance with design and manufacture of the automation system.

*Skills And Experience:*

• Australian drivers licence.
• A sound knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and/or Microstation with experience in designing and developing industrial electrical control systems for automation projects.
• A Diploma in Electrical Engineering will be highly regarded.
• Must be an Australian Citizen
