About the Role A leading not-for-profit organisation is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join its Cyber Security Program during a period of significant cloud and security transformation.

This is a hands-on role focused on securing Azure infrastructure and platforms, with responsibility across identity, endpoint security, monitoring, and threat management. You will work closely with technology and security teams to ensure cloud environments are secure, resilient, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and secure Azure IaaS & PaaS environments
  • Integrate on-premises Active Directory with Microsoft Entra ID
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Sentinel and Defender for Cloud
  • Configure Conditional Access, RBAC, and identity security controls
  • Manage Microsoft Intune for device compliance and endpoint protection
  • Monitor security posture, availability, performance, and cost
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers

Skills & Experience

  • 5-7 years' experience in infrastructure and/or security engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure security
  • Experience with Entra ID, Active Directory, and Intune
  • Solid understanding of cloud security, risk, and threat modelling
  • Scripting experience with PowerShell
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Highly Regarded:

  • Microsoft Purview and Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  • Data protection, encryption, and lifecycle management
  • DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code

Qualifications

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Azure and Security certifications highly regarded
