Senior Security Engineer

What we are looking for

A highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer with deep expertise in cloud security architecture and hands-on experience protecting critical infrastructure.

You'll need 3+ years in cyber security, extensive knowledge of Azure and AWS environments, and proficiency with security frameworks including ACSC ISM, ISO27001, and NIST standards.

This role demands someone who can design robust security solutions, implement advanced security tools, and proactively identify and mitigate cyber threats across hybrid cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly secure cloud architectures across Azure and AWS platforms, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and data availability
  • Deploy and manage advanced security tools to systematically identify vulnerabilities and resolve security issues across digital systems
  • Develop incident response processes and implement countermeasures to minimise impact from security threats
  • Provide secure development engineering guidance and assurance for cloud and on-premises projects
  • Scrutinise code bases and eliminate common vulnerabilities while ensuring compliance with industry security standards

Technical requirements

  • Extensive expertise in Azure and AWS cloud design, including Security Centre, Defender, Sentinel, Security Hub, and GuardDuty
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, Terraform, Azure ARM/Bicep, and AWS CloudFormation with CI/CD pipeline experience
  • Deep understanding of cloud network security including VPC, VNET, cloud firewalls, load balancers, and SASE platforms (Netskope)
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerisation (AKS, EKS, Container Registry), and secure network segmentation in cloud environments
  • Strong command of PowerShell, Python, and experience integrating cloud telemetry with SIEMs for security monitoring and threat detection
