Your role
The Workforce Wellbeing & Safety Lead at Centacare NENW plays a crucial role in fostering a safe and healthy work environment. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of wellbeing and safety initiatives across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of Centacare's Healthy Workforce Strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy.
- Provide high-level advice and reporting to senior leadership on WHS, wellbeing and people risk matters, with an emphasis on driving proactive risk management strategies.
- Lead wellbeing and psychosocial initiatives that promote engagement, resilience and a positive workplace culture.
- In conjunction with People & Culture, oversee workers compensation and return to work processes, ensuring best practice management, early intervention and sustainable recovery outcomes.
- Build organisational capability by developing systems, training, resources and education programs in safety and wellbeing, including collaborating with managers and staff across the organisation to embed into everyday practice.
The Workforce Wellbeing & Safety Lead will also be instrumental in driving initiatives that align with Centacare NENW's values while ensuring the overall wellbeing of its workforce is prioritised. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passionate commitment to enhancing workplace culture through proactive wellbeing measures.

What you'll bring
We're looking for someone with:
- Experience in designing and delivering workplace wellbeing or WHS training programs.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and their application to wellbeing, safety and people risk.
- Strong systems thinking and analytical skills, with the proven ability to develop sustainable solutions.
- Accreditation or training in mental health and wellbeing programs, such as Mental Health First Aid or Trauma Informed practice.
- Degree or higher qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Human Resources or a related field.
- Significant experience in wellbeing, work health and safety or human resource management.
- Strong understanding of psychosocial risk management and related codes of practice.
- Experience in managing workers compensation and return to work processes.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and disciplines to achieve shared outcomes.
