Council seeks a passionate and suitably qualified specialist to join our Health and Wellbeing team, with permanent and contract opportunities available. As a pivotal function in Council's People & Culture Division, the Health and Wellbeing team provides proactive and preventative support services to approximately 650 employees across a diverse range of disciplines. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual work in a close-knit team that makes a real difference in the lives of our employees.
Reporting to the Leader Employee Health & Wellbeing and working closely with stakeholders from across the organisation, key responsibilities will include:
- Managing workers compensation and return-to-work programs, ensuring effective injury management for both physical and psychological injuries.
- Coordinating health and wellbeing initiatives, including workplace health campaigns, staff events, and proactive programs that promote resilience and engagement.
- Supporting employees through mental health pathways, providing referral options and access to the Employee Assistance Program.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, medical providers, rehabilitation specialists, and insurers.
- Monitoring compliance with relevant legislation and ensure Council maintains best practice in workplace health and wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., Nursing, Physiotherapy, Allied Health, HR, or related).
- Experienced in workers compensation case management, return-to-work coordination, and health promotion.
- Skilled in developing and delivering wellbeing initiatives and supporting employees in navigating referral pathways for mental health and personal challenges.
- An excellent communicator who can work empathetically with employees, leaders, healthcare providers, and insurers.
- Knowledgeable in relevant WHS, workers compensation, and injury management legislation.
Additional training such as Mental Health First Aid or a Certificate IV in WHS would be highly regarded.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed professional to join a progressive regional council while making a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our staff.
This position has been classified as a Grade 14 with a salary of $84, $91,192.49 for 35 hours work per week or prorated for part time equivalent. Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements. Part time hours would be considered for the right individual. Permament and contract arrangements are available.
