About the role:

Reporting into the Head of Planning, the
Senior Merchandise Planner
will work closely with our buyers and planning analysts to ensure we have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time

Key responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage the Open-to-Buy process and provide recommendations for markdowns, promotions, and stock re-distribution.
  • Manage the MSSI for the department
  • Monitor product performance, identify opportunities for improvement within the range, and propose actionable strategies to maximize sales and minimize risks.
  • Conduct regular analysis and reporting on key merchandising metrics, including sales, margin, inventory turns, and sell-through.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to identify emerging opportunities and recommend product assortment adjustments.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior merchandise planners, fostering their growth and development within the team.

About you:


• High levels of Excel knowledge including VLookup, Pivot Tables etc.


• Managed a WSSI or MSSI within a Merchandise Planning function for a retailer.


• Previous success in range reviews making recommendations to product, pricing and promotions


• Presenting plans to key internal stakeholders
