Join a well-established Australian retailer entering an exciting new chapter of growth and transformation. This is the perfect role for a commercially minded Merchandise Planner who loves to bring structure, insight, and strategy to a fast-evolving environment.
If you thrive on challenge, collaboration, and helping to rebuild the foundations of success — you'll feel right at home here.
About the Role In this pivotal role, you'll partner closely with Buying, Design, and Finance to shape the merchandise strategy across key apparel categories.
You'll be the calm, commercial voice of reason — driving the numbers, influencing decisions, and ensuring the product story is backed by data-driven insight and planning precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage merchandise financial plans that deliver sales, margin, and stock targets.
- Partner with Buyers to develop commercially balanced ranges that reflect both customer demand and brand direction.
- Drive sales, stock, and intake forecasts — ensuring optimal use of OTB.
- Analyse trading performance weekly, identifying risks and opportunities and taking action to maximise results.
- Lead planning conversations that influence key decisions around range, pricing, and markdown.
- Implement strong planning frameworks and tools to support better business rhythm and accountability.
- Contribute to the evolution of the planning function — bringing ideas, insight, and confidence to a business in growth mode.
About You
- 3–6 years' experience in Merchandise Planning (apparel experience preferred).
- Confident in building frameworks and processes that drive commercial clarity.
- Naturally collaborative with the confidence to influence across departments.
- Analytical thinker with strong Excel and planning system experience.
- Thrives in change & enjoys helping to build stability from the ground up.
- Brings curiosity, composure, and commercial edge to everything you do.
Why You'll Love It Here
This is a business with strong heritage, loyal customers, and a renewed energy for the future. You'll have the chance to shape the next phase — to make your mark, modernise how things are done, and work with people who genuinely value smart thinking and grounded leadership.
If you're ready to contribute to a brand that's rebuilding with intention and looking for smart, steady hands to guide it forward — we'd love to hear from you.
