Payroll Specialist (12-Month Contract) – SAP & Workday Implementation
- Location: Melbourne (preferred), Sydney, or Newcastle
- Hybrid (WFH with 1 office day/month)
- Anticipated duration: 12-Month Assignment | Flexible Hours
- Hourly rate: $50ph
The Opportunity
Join a high-performing payroll team in a hands-on role supporting a major HR/payroll systems transition. With a July go-live target for Workday Payroll, we're seeking a confident and capable Payroll Specialist to support business-as-usual payroll functions and contribute across all phases of implementation.
What You'll Do
- Handle core payroll processes including terminations, redundancy calculations, and data entry
- Work within SAP Payroll (current) and support the transition to Workday Payroll (future)
- Liaise with offshore teams – helping coordinate but also navigating challenges that come with it
- Manage data uploads and processing (excluding payment uploads)
- Operate autonomously – no micromanaging here
- Contribute to all facets of payroll – a true team player with a "finger in every pie"
What You'll Bring
- Solid SAP payroll experience – essential
- Experience with Workday – desirable but not required
- Proven ability to handle payroll calculations, terminations, and processing with high attention to detail
- Strong experience in data entry and software systems
- A self-starter attitude – able to work without hand-holding
- Comfortable working with MS Teams and in a remote-friendly environment

- Flexible start/finish hours (great for school runs)
