About the roleRabobank's Operations Payments & Processing team is part of the COO Domain's Operations area & plays a vital role in delivering smooth, reliable payment experiences for our clients. We are looking for two proactive & detail-oriented Payments Officers to join our Sydney-based team. You'll enjoy a hybrid work model, combining office & home flexibility. This role reports to the Team Leader, Payments.
This position offers opportunities to develop broader skills in payments processing & authorisation as we continue to enhance our operations. Adaptability & a willingness to learn will be key to your success.
Top Role Accountabilities:As a Payments Officer, you will be ensuring every transaction is accurate, timely, & compliant. Your day will include:
- Delivering exceptional customer service & building trusted relationships
- Processing a variety of transactions - from automatic payments & telegraphic transfers to deposit setups, breaks, & interest adjustments
- Managing trace requests & unposted items
- Upholding risk & quality standards across all interactions
- Investigating & escalating incidents or complaints when needed
- Reviewing data sets, reconciling accounts
- Collaborating in team meetings to enhance the overall customer experience
- Contributing to process improvements & participating in cross-training initiatives to support team flexibility
- Performing other duties as required
- 2 years' + experience in banking operations or payments
- Knowledge of Australian transactional banking processes will be highly regarded
- A customer-first mindset with excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail & an ability to work to a high level of accuracy
- Comfortable with learning new systems & adapting to process changes
- The ability to prioritise & meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A team player with a collaborative approach
- A resilient, proactive attitude
- Understanding of risk & compliance principles will be highly regarded
