About the role

In this role, you will deliver tailored support and advocacy to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You'll focus on building strong, trusting relationships with clients, promoting open communication, and empowering them to enhance their overall wellbeing.

You will provide both one-on-one support and group-based interventions aligned with each client's goals and needs. Your responsibilities will include developing, monitoring, and reviewing assessments and support plans, while ensuring access to appropriate therapeutic, vocational, and educational services. This is a permanent full-time position based at our Mirrabooka office.

About you

You will possess a strong understanding of the historical experiences of Aboriginal families and a genuine passion for supporting clients to achieve their fullest potential. Additionally, you will have experience working within a trauma-informed framework when engaging with Aboriginal families.

In addition, you will also possess:

  • As a 50D role, being Aboriginal is a genuine occupational requirement of this position.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services field or working towards is desirable
  • Prior experience working in a mental health or community setting with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individuals is preferred
  • Strong connections to Aboriginal Community Services Organisations and Elders is highly desired
  • Experience in delivering therapeutic interventions for clients who are experiencing complex issues
  • Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
