About the role

Mortlake Motorcycles and Mowers' is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Small Engines Mechanic to join our dedicated team in Mortlake, VIC. As a full-time Small Engines Mechanic. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of a variety of small engines, including ATV's, SXS's, lawn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers, and other outdoor power equipment.

We are a Stihl Dealership, with more plans to expand and grow, add other dealerships and are currently in the process of adding more services and skills to provide our customers with a more specialised shop.

What you'll be doing

  1. Diagnose and repair issues with small engines, identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical, and fuel-related problems
  2. Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, tune-ups, and blade sharpening
  3. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble small engines to restore optimal performance
  4. Use specialized tools and equipment to test, troubleshoot, and repair small engine components
  5. Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
  6. Provide excellent customer service, offering advice and guidance to customers on the care and maintenance of their small engine-powered equipment

What we're looking for

  1. Formal qualification in small engine repair or a related automotive trade
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience as a small engines mechanic, with a proven track record of repairing a wide range of small engine-powered equipment
  3. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex issues
  4. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship
  5. Good customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with customers
  6. Proficient in the use of specialized tools and equipment used in small engine repair
