About the role
SACA is looking for an experienced Women & Girls Engagement Leader to join our Community Cricket team. The Women & Girls Engagement Leader will play a pivotal role in supporting Community Cricket Staff with expert guidance to grow and sustain the involvement of women and girls in cricket. This role will provide strategic leadership to drive increased participation and long-term retention across the player pathway, with a particular focus on transitioning participants from school and entry-level programs into junior cricket and beyond.
Please be mindful that this is a fixed-term 12-month maternity leave contract.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive local implementation of the Cricket Australia Women's and Girls Action Plan specific to the Participation stream.
- Provide strategic leadership of the Adelaide Strikers Girls Cricket League, driving growth and retention initiatives while managing key stakeholder relationships to support the development of a sustainable player pathway.
- Lead women and girls' leadership initiatives and champion efforts to create inclusive, supportive environments that foster participation-this includes, but is not limited to, programs such as Emerging Leaders and Confidence in Cricket.
- Oversee community engagement activations with International Women's, WBBL matches and associated events.
- Collaborate with the Premier Cricket team and the broader Cricket department to ensure alignment and cohesive support for women and girls' programs and competition offerings.
- Support and influence School Sporting Associations to establish and sustain junior girls' competitions
- Provide support to the Cricket Officers to develop and execute region-specific plans that drive engagement and growth in women's and girls' participation.
- In collaboration with the Cricket Officers, facilitate the seamless transition of girls from school-based sampling programs into entry-level initiatives and/or support their progression into the junior cricket pathway as registered players.
- In conjunction with Cricket Officers influence and support community associations and clubs to establish and sustainably grow and retain junior girls' competitions and teams
- Support Cricket Officers in the promotion of Women & Girls initiatives in their regions, ensuring alignment with participation objectives.
- Collaborate with the SACA Communications and Marketing Department to tailor marketing materials and promotional campaigns that enhance the visibility and appeal of girls' cricket programs.
- Manage the budget relating to role responsibilities, ensuring effective use of Cricket Australia funding and other relevant grants.
· You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain one.

- Strong understanding of women and girls, with preferred experience engaging them in sport, recreation, entertainment, or retail.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and empowerment skills
- Proven ability to influence and take initiative
- Demonstrated capability to develop and support the delivery of national programs
- Demonstrated expertise in project management
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- You will hold a valid Driver's Licence
- You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain one
- Tertiary qualifications in Education, Sport Management or Management would be desirable
- Marketing and communications or business background would be beneficial.
- A good understanding of the sports industry.
About SACA

The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the SA Men's and Women's Teams and Adelaide Strikers women's and men's teams.
