Job DescriptionAbout the role
The Principal Product Manager – Hiring Automation owns a strategically important portfolio focused on establishing and piloting agentic ways of guiding hirers through the hiring process to achieve a higher likelihood of placement. This includes developing and iterating AI-powered tools, orchestration capabilities, and workflows that remove friction, improve conversion, and deliver measurable outcomes for hirers and candidates.
Working closely with Product, Technology, Design, Data Science, and Analytics, you will lead initiatives within the Hiring Automation portfolio that leverage agentic capabilities, high-context guidance to transform how hirers navigate sourcing, selection, and placement.
Responsibilities
- Focus on delivering a world-class user experience that solves real customer problems through cutting-edge technology development, products and services, with a specific emphasis on agentic guidance that improves hirer placement likelihood.
- Is able to deeply understand customer needs, met, unmet, stated and unstated, including the unique needs of hirers navigating the hiring process. Uses a variety of customer immersion, quant and qual methodologies to underpin decisions in product direction.
- Using market, technology, and customer input, is able to innovate, test and evolve the product in a meaningful way, particularly through AI-powered tools, orchestration capabilities, and workflows.
- Deliver outstanding experiences to our customers, ensuring coverage of operational, technological and commercial needs while embedding high-context decision guidance.
- Understand the customer channel inter-relationship with our products and services and deliver them in a way that most effectively reaches the customer.
- Deliver key metrics / outcomes and drive the evolution of product through discovery, development and optimisation via a dedicated product development stream. This includes ensuring your team establishes bold and inspiring OKRs and makes the right decisions to maximise achievement, including metrics such as increased interview-to-placement conversion rates.
- Work with and inspire a dedicated agile stream of product managers, engineers, UXers and analysts in the portfolio, fostering an experimentation mindset.
- Have a holistic view of your products and how they fit into the overarching experience across SEEK and work closely with other SEEK product development teams to collaborate, influence and drive a best-in-class hirer and candidate experience.
- Evangelise the compelling ambition and future state for your products / platforms and how we plan to achieve this, through having up-to-date views on their roadmaps and experimentation outcomes.
- Directly lead, coach and build capability of a team of talented Product Managers.
- Actively manage and engage stakeholders across the business, inspiring others and generating momentum behind the Hiring Automation ambition.
- Champion the voice of the customer on both sides of the employment marketplace, focusing on solving critical customer problems of high strategic and commercial importance, with a focus on automation and guided hiring journeys.
- Is confident in navigating the measures of product performance both within SEEK and in the external market. Can articulate drivers of performance and, using those metrics, navigate to the most effective actions as a result.
- Stay abreast of industry and competitor trends, particularly in AI and agentic technology applications for hiring.
Skills and experience
- Extensive experience in B2B and/or B2C product management, ideally in marketplaces or hiring technology, with exposure to automation and guided workflow design.
- Proven track record in developing and delivering innovative, data-driven product solutions from concept to scale, including products incorporating agentic capabilities.
- Strong understanding of AI and emerging agentic technologies, with experience embedding them into customer-facing workflows to improve decision-making and outcomes.
- Skilled in product architecture for future extensibility and outcome delivery, including designing systems that can support evolving AI and agentic features.
- Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and prioritise effectively in fast-changing technological environments.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance customer needs, business goals, and innovation opportunities.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in an agile environment, fostering collaboration between product, engineering, design, data science, and analytics.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, able to generate buy-in for new approaches and technologies.
- Passion for experimentation, continuous learning, and applying emerging agentic technologies to deliver customer and commercial value.
