Principal Software Engineer

Do you have a passion for improving the lives of patients through cutting-edge technology?

Bayer Radiology is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to participate in software design and development activities for Bayer Computed Tomography (CT) contrast injector systems.

Working from our Rydalmere facility you will design and develop software components and architectures as required by the product portfolio plan. The CT injector products developed in Rydalmere are sold in global markets, giving the opportunity to make a difference to patients' lives and the work of health care professionals.

Do something that moves you.

  • You will design and implement software to support Radiology product development
  • Build, test, verify and document new software components
  • Mentor junior engineers in advanced software engineering design and development practices ensuring they meet Bayer and medical device development standards
  • Collaborate with local and international cross functional teams
  • Deploy good software engineering practices throughout the full developmental life cycle
  • Write clean, high quality reliable and maintainable code
  • Partake in peer code review sessions

Does this sound like you?

  • A Bachelor of Engineering in computing or equivalent technical field and significant software development experience
  • Advanced object-oriented design skills and advanced coding skills in C, C++ and Python
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in an agile team environment
  • A post-graduate degree or significant hands-on work experience in Software development in a medical or other regulated environment will be highly regarded
