Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd is Australia's largest Tin producer.  Bluestone is a well-established, high yield tin producer with a strong resource base supporting a mine life in excess of 10 years. The Renison mine is located on Tasmania's beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery.

About the mine

It is an exciting time at Renison with a robust "Life of Mine Plan" and ongoing capital reinvestment program designed to deliver substantial health, safety, environmental, and efficiency improvements across the operation. Our mission is to be a sustainable, efficient, capable, disciplined and respected tin producer. We will continue our improvement journey to challenge the way we work optimising our entire operation.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician, who will be required to work on surface and in our underground mining environment.  

In this role you will safely execute all planned and breakdown works to ensure the reliability and availability of production systems for both surface and underground assets. This position is offered as 7 days on 7 days off, day shift roster. You may, from time to time, be required to relieve shift electricians as part of this role and this may require you to work night shift.

Core responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repair electrical plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Logically and systematically solve problems by implementing sound fault finding and fault rectification processes
  • Conduct HV switching safely, competently and in accordance with BMTJV access and work procedures
  • Ensure compliance to the work management process for work execution and capture related transactional data into Pronto.

About you

You will have a current electrical practitioner's licence with experience working in a heavy industrial environment.

Experience in aspects of electrical infrastructure in a mining operation both surface and underground as well as a basic understanding of PLC's would be desirable.
