About the Role

As a Senior Payroll Officer, you'll take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across fortnightly and monthly cycles. Your expertise will ensure our people are paid correctly and on time, and your focus on continuous improvement will help us deliver smarter, more efficient payroll services.

Specifically, this will include:

  • Processing end-to-end payroll, including salaries, superannuation, deductions, and tax
  • Managing timesheets, off-cycle payments, allowances, and employee changes
  • Providing timely and clear support for payroll queries across the business
  • Maintaining accurate and secure employee and payroll records
  • Interpreting enterprise agreements, awards and policies with the support of our P&C team
  • Generating and delivering payroll and HR reports as required
  • Supporting payroll system updates, enhancements and risk management activities
  • Providing system guidance and training to users when needed

You're a proactive problem-solver who thrives on finding opportunities to improve processes and make things more efficient. You work well in cross-functional teams, building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders through your collaborative and approachable style.

We also seek:

  • Experience in a senior payroll position with strong technical knowledge
  • Solid understanding of relevant payroll legislation and employment taxes
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Excel (intermediate to advanced)
  • Experience using Chris21 (Oracle HCM Cloud, Aurion, or UKG a bonus)
