About the Business
Melloy Independent Wealth was established in February 2024. We are a boutique financial planning firm focused on helping high-net-worth clients on a fee-for-service basis. The firm exists to deliver high-quality advice that is always in the client's best interest, free from conflicts of interest or product provider influence.
About the role
You will be working as a paraplanner, providing direct support to the business owner and financial adviser. This is a part-time role of around three days per week. The salary range is $80,000 to $120,000 (full-time equivalent), and is based on skills and experience.

The work environment
- You will be reporting directly to a Financial Adviser who spent five years working as a paraplanner before becoming an adviser. He understands the role and the common frustrations paraplanners face

- You will have the flexibility to set your own hours. If you want to start early and finish early, you can
- Your performance will be assessed on an outcomes basis, not based on the amount of time you spend at your desk. If you can do what would usually take 8 hours in 6 hours, finish early
Key Responsibilities
- Researching clients' existing superannuation, investment, insurance, and related arrangements
- Preparing Statements of Advice (SOAs), Records of Advice (ROAs), and supporting documentation
- Assisting with the implementation of advice strategies and liaising with providers
- Maintaining accurate records and managing workflows
- Ensuring compliance and quality standards are consistently met
- Providing efficient support that allows me to focus on strategy and client relationships
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A positive and friendly personality, with a genuine desire to learn and grow.
- The ability to multi-task, prioritise effectively, and manage your time
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Paraplanner
- Diploma of Financial Planning (RG146 compliant)
- Strong knowledge of financial planning strategies and products
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Integrity and commitment to delivering quality advice documentation
- Experience with financial planning software (Plutosoft is highly regarded)
