Collaborate efficiently with the experts in the Tax Department at Aristocrat and the broader Aristocrat entity to ensure the detailed completion of tax responsibilities at Aristocrat. The primary emphasis of this position is on managing Aristocrat's tax responsibilities for the ANZ and APAC regions. Coordinating tax advisory assistance for Australian and international taxes to the Leadership Team leading all aspects of group taxation.

Partner with Group Finance, Aristocrat sectors, and external advisors to handle tax compliance and unexpected tax issues. They will also be involved with larger tax projects, or projects requiring tax input, as and when they arise.

What You'll Do:

  • Preparation of income tax returns, associated schedules and supporting calculations for Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific countries.
  • Preparation of tax provision figures for half-year and year-end group financial statements.
  • Preparation of tax effect accounting entries monthly.
  • Preparation of other tax compliance obligations, including GST, FBT, PAYG Instalments and PAYG withholding tax returns as required.
  • Support with forecasting and planning processes for upcoming tax obligations.
  • Assist with the annual Australian R&D incentive project, working closely with the business and consultants from outside the organisation.
  • Support the Group Tax team and the Aristocrat business in managing ad-hoc tax matters as they surface.
  • Collaborate closely with the Group Tax Team to consistently improve processes and policies, emphasizing strong governance principles.
  • Liaise with wider Group Finance, our external advisors, and tax authorities in respect of tax matters.
  • Assist with Group Tax Team internal activities /responsibilities /reporting and team administration.

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, with a major in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CA/CPA.
  • Demonstrated expertise in direct and indirect tax regulation and mentorship, acquired at a Big 4 or prominent mid-tier accounting firm, or a multinational corporation in Australia.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach, with the ability to navigate complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience working effectively with global collaborators across time zones and cultures.
  • High level of attention to detail, with a strong commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining collaborative relationships with both internal and external collaborators.
