What you'll be doing
The Clinical Research Manager (CRM) is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Clinical Research Centre's (CRCs) at The Children's Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick, with the vision to continue to grow paediatric research and to be recognised nationally and internationally for research outputs with overall aim of improving child health outcomes.
The CRM plans, coordinates, leads and manages human, financial, material, and capital resources and is responsible for overseeing all clinical research studies conducted through the CRCs. The CRM liaises with Sponsors, Investigators, Collaborators and their Teams (including both Internal and External stakeholders) to ensure effective communication, escalation and execution in the performance of clinical trial activity to meet key performance indicators of timeframe, budget, quality, education and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliance.
The CRM will aim to promote an increase in the quality, quantity and relevance of paediatric clinical trials conducted by providing expert assistance to investigators in all aspects of the development and conduct of trials.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, with subsequent relevant experience in the conduct and management of clinical research and research teams, specifically clinical trials.
- Extensive experience in the management of multicentre, national and international clinical research in collaboration with other health disciplines. Includes experience in feasibility analyses, budget development and management, study start ups and all aspects of end to end trial management.
- Extensive understanding of regulatory and ethical guidelines relevant to the conduct of clinical research/trials including GCP and NCTGF requirements
- Demonstrated ability to exercise leadership, autonomy and initiative in relation to day-to-day problem solving, communication and decision making.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in liaising with a variety of stakeholders/audiences.
- Excellent project, time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, have attention to detail, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a highly paced environment.
- Demonstrated problem solving and strategic planning skills with the ability to design and implement appropriate departmental processes and systems to improve and maintain quality.
- Extensive computer skills, including experience with using a Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS), and willingness to utilise existing and new systems for clinical trials project management and data management including reporting.
