Searson Buck is currently seeking applications from skilled and enthusiastic Diesel Mechanics to join a highly reputable, trusted local mechanical company. This is an exciting opportunity in a new workshop located in Brighton. If you are a Diesel Mechanic, or have a general mechanical background and are looking for a fresh and challenging role, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical issues both in the workshop and on-site, ensuring minimal downtime for client operations
- Perform regular maintenance and servicing of diesel engines and heavy vehicles
- Conduct rebuilds on diesel engines as required, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance
- Install and fit vehicle accessories, customisations and upgrades
- Perform basic general fabrication and welding tasks to support mechanical repairs and upgrades
- Interpret parts requirements, order necessary parts and components and maintain accurate stock levels in accordance with company procedures
- Provide high-quality service to clients, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations exceeded
- Adhere to all safety and environmental standards, maintaining a safe work environment for both you and your team
What we're looking for:
- Unrestricted Drivers Licence (Essential)
- Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence - MR/HR/HC (Highly beneficial)
- Applicants must have completed a suitable Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship to be considered
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a workshop environment, with hands on experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
- Experience working on Mercedes and Freightliner Heavy Vehicles will be highly regarded
- Proven ability to maintain safety standards and work to high operational standards
- Qualified general mechanics will be considered
